Are you looking for a new timeline cover photo to celebrate Independence Day? Our friend Eyal Oren, photographer and author of the Wednesdays in Marblehead blog has provided us with three great photos of the harbor illumination already formatted perfectly to be used as cover photos for your own Facebook timeline. If you are on Facebook, please join our new “Marblehead Fireworks and Harbor Illumination” Facebook Page: https://www.facebook.com/MarbleheadFireworks
We’ve previously maintained a Facebook Group with about 230 members, but FB groups did not give us the full capabilities on Facebook to promote the Fireworks and communicate with all the residents in the Town of Marblehead. Please like our new page and help us spread the word…
We are delighted to once again be included in the CBS Boston ranking of the the “Boston Area’s Best Places To See Fireworks” this year.

We are entering the final phase of our countdown with only 2 weeks remaining until the Fourth.
"1812 Overture & Harbor Illumination" by Christopher Gurshin
I recently spoke with world-renowned artist Christopher Gurshin, who was the featured artist at the Hospice Auction and Regatta this year, and he kindly agreed to let me use an image of his painting “1812 Overture & Harbor Illumination” on the Marblehead Fireworks website. This painting was inspired by his experience during July 4th at Crocker Park several years ago where he heard the 1812 Overture prior to the Marblehead Fireworks and Harbor Illumination.
I hope this painting will in turn inspire you all to invite friends and family to join you in Marblehead this Fourth of July and please continue sending your donations.
We have some exciting news: our friend Mark Forziati has volunteered to design and produce a cycle jersey as a fundraiser for the Marblehead fireworks!
Jeff Folger has provided one of his photos for the project free of charge and all profits from the sale are going straight into the fireworks fund. The jersey will be available this spring for $100 at select locations in town. To better gauge interest and determine the quantities we want to produce, please respond via comments if you would be interested in buying one and specify the size. Thank you! Please help spread the word…
And a big Thank You from the Fireworks Committee to Mark and Jeff!
Welcome to the updated 2013 Marblehead Fireworks and Harbor Illumination Web Site. We hope you will find the site informational and entertaining. We also hope that by starting to think about the summer you will be motivated to send us a donation to insure that we can continue this fine Marblehead Tradition. Click on the donation tab above to learn more.
The 2013 Fireworks are scheduled for Thursday, July 4th, 2013 at approximately 9:00 PM. The Harbor Illumination will begin at 8:45 P.M. and immediately following we will LIGHT THE FUSE ON THIS YEAR’S EDITION OF FIREWORKS FOREVER!
